This is a small post office on the original Route 66 in Kingman. It is at about Third and Andy Divine. The major post office in Kingman is close to the intersection of Route 66/ Andy Divine and Stockton Hill Road but not right on Route 66. I asked them to stamp my letter which they did, but the cancellation mark was Las Vegas. It appears all Kingman mail goes to Las Vegas for distribution and cancellation. The first Post Office in Kingman was built in 1935 on Fourth Street across from the Old Red School. Before this postal duties were handled inside of local stores. It is now owned by the City of Kingman. I could not find a date of construction for the Route 66 post office. This building is owned by a private family which contracts with U.S. Post Office. It is a cash only post office. It is not open on weekends.
