Florence Bank was constructd in 1856 after the bank was charted by Nebraska Territory. It included a steel lined vault with the walls of the safe being three feet thick. The family that ran the bank lived upstairs. This bank was a wildcat bank and was injured by the financial crisis of 1857 and finally closed in 1859. Subsequently used for many businesses, including another bank.
