Book Review: #Not Your Princess: Voices of Native American Women

#Not Your Princess: Voices of Native American Women edited by Lisa Charleyboy and Mary Beth Leatherdale, Annick Press, Ontario Arts Council, Canada, 2018. 

This is a book of many women speaking out through voice or through art.  Particular issues they talk about include: Missing women and children, The history of mistreatment of Native Americans, and patriarchal society.  The book includes quotes or essays from about 40 Native American women and about that many more Native American women artists.  Some of the book comes off as angry, but most of it is insightful.  It includes many different tribal groups from Canada and America.  It also includes poets, song writers, rap artists and many other noted professionals.  The art is also interesting.
